Neo-Traditional Tattoo Artist in Hamilton

Ryvn (pronounced Ryan) joined the GRIM Studios team in Hamilton, Ontario in 2022 and quickly made it clear that colour tattoos are her love language. She specializes in neo-traditional tattooing, with a particular focus on bold colour, strong contrast, and designs that actually hold up over time.

​

Ryvn is also a strong advocate for properly executed colour tattoos on BIPOC skin, bringing both technical knowledge and intention to her work. She approaches tattooing thoughtfully, with an emphasis on longevity, saturation, and making sure colour looks as good healed as it does fresh.

Outside of tattooing, Ryvn is a wildly talented artist in her own right, creating sapphic, nerdy, and illustrative artwork across multiple mediums. She’s a Star Wars enthusiast, a Def Leppard fan, an animal lover, and a dedicated vegan snack connoisseur. When she’s not tattooing, she’s usually renovating a house with her girlfriend or sending unhinged messages that have, on at least one occasion, resulted in another artist blocking her on social media for their own safety.

Ryvn is warm, deeply lovable, undeniably badass, and armed with a sense of humour that feels a little illegal to laugh at. She brings skill, care, and a whole lot of personality to the studio, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
