Our Client Promise

At GRIM, your safety, comfort, and trust come first. Whether you’re here for a tattoo, piercing, laser, or any service we offer, we are committed to creating a space that is respectful, trauma-informed, and rooted in consent, care, and accountability.

I. A Safer Space. Always.

We are committed to your physical and emotional safety at all times.

  • Cameras are present in all public areas of the studio. There are no cameras in private rooms.

  • Camera footage is accessed only by management if needed for safety or incident review and is stored securely for a limited time (generally up to 7 days).

  • You may bring one support person with you for comfort and safety (subject to current health or capacity policies).

  • You will never be asked to remove clothing without a valid reason, clear communication, and appropriate coverings being offered.

  • We will explain what to expect before any service begins. You are always encouraged to ask questions and communicate if something does not feel right.

  • Privacy screens or private rooms are available for sensitive areas. You may invite a trusted person to be present.

  • For sensitive consultations not held in public areas, we can arrange for an additional staff member of a gender you feel most comfortable with to be present.

  • For sensitive-area piercings, when a client is being pierced by a piercer of a different gender, an additional staff member may be present at the client’s request or with their consent.

  • This staff member remains in the room as a passive presence only and does not observe or participate in the piercing.

  • You may decline this option or change your mind at any point without explanation.

There is zero tolerance for sexual, inappropriate, or harassing comments or behavior.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Sexual comments, jokes, or suggestive remarks

  • Unwanted flirting, advances, or propositions

  • Inappropriate touching, lingering contact, or invading personal space

  • Staring, leering, or making someone feel watched or unsafe

  • Comments or behavior targeting someone’s body, gender, sexuality, race, disability, or identity

  • Harassment or inappropriate conduct in person, over messages, or on our social media platforms

No artist or staff member will engage in this behavior at any time.
No client will be permitted to engage in this behavior toward artists, staff, or other clients.

If at any time something feels inappropriate or unsafe, please contact Memphis directly and privately at memphismori@gmail.com. You will be taken seriously.

II. Respect for Who You Are

We are committed to respecting your pronouns, your name, boundaries, and individual needs.

This includes, but is not limited to, clients who are trans, non-binary, BIPOC, LGBTQIA2S+, neurodivergent, disabled, or living with anxiety, depression, PTSD/CPTSD, ADHD, or other mental or physical health considerations.

We promise to be respectful, accommodating, and welcoming, and to do our best work for you, every single time.

III. We Want You to Love Your Tattoo or Piercing

Your body is permanent. Your trust matters.

If you are unhappy with your tattoo or piercing, please reach out within 14 days. We will work with you to find a solution whenever possible, whether that means adjustments, guidance, or next steps.

IV. We Stand Behind Our Work

We offer a 90-day touch-up on most tattoos if needed, provided aftercare instructions were followed.

Please note:

  • No tattoo heals perfectly.

  • Touch-ups are not offered on hands, fingers, knees, feet, elbows, or other areas your artist advises against due to healing limitations.

V. Honest Pricing, Always

If you are quoted a price for a single-session tattoo, we will honor that quote within a reasonable range (up to approximately 25%), based on the agreed-upon design and scope of work.

GRIM exists to be a safer, more ethical, more human space in an industry that hasn’t always been.

If something doesn’t feel right, we want to know.
If you need accommodations, we will do our best.
If you place your trust in us, we will treat it with respect.

Always.

PROMISE

Land Acknowledgement

GRIM Studios respectfully acknowledges that we operate on the traditional territories of the Erie, Neutral, Huron-Wendat, Haudenosaunee, and Mississaugas peoples.

These lands are protected by the Dish With One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, an agreement between the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Anishinaabe to share and care for the resources around the Great Lakes.

We recognize and honour the enduring presence, rights, and contributions of Indigenous peoples, past, present, and future.

At GRIM Studios, we commit ourselves not only to acknowledging this land but also to continuously learning about its history, respecting its stewards, and actively supporting Indigenous communities through advocacy, education, and meaningful collaboration.

We encourage all who visit our studio to reflect deeply on the history of the land we occupy, to seek understanding of Indigenous perspectives, and to commit to acts of reconciliation, equity, and respect. Together, we can build a community rooted in genuine respect, understanding, and care.
